About Norma

Norbert Morandière was born in Alger, Algeria, and published his first comic pages in the magazine Falatoff in 1971, using the pseudonym Marcus. The next year, he assumed the pseudonym Norma, and began drawing for the publishing house Fleurus (in Djin and Formule 1) and the magazine Amis-Coop. In addition, he drew the western series 'Lord Remington' in Record. He joined the magazinen Pif Gadget in 1974, starting out with 'Le Chevalier Ensorcelé'. In 1975, he created the series 'Capitaine Apache', written by Roger Lécureux, which ran until 1986. In 1988, he took on the trilogy 'Souvenirs de la Pendule', written by Patrick Cothias. In the early 1990s, he launched the heroic fantasy saga 'Hazel et Ogan' with a script by Bosse in Tintin. He also drew 'Pieter Hoorn' from a script by Frank Giroud at Glénat, as well as 'Saïto', scripted by François Corteggiani at Soleil. He continued his cooperation with Corteggiani with the comics adaptation of Féval's 'Bossu' at Glénat. In 1998, he drew 'Ener et le Secret du Temple de Salomon' with a script by Jacques-René Martin at Éditions Dervy. Norma has also done art on commissioned albums, such as 'Rochefort, un Voyage dans le Temps' and a comic about the Poitevine region. In 2002, he illustrated 'Victor Hugo - On a Volé les Misérables' for the Atelier de l'Almanach. Text (c) Lambiek
