About Johan Pilet

Johan Pilet was born in Liège. He began his professional career in car design, but he was eventually retrained to be a comic artist. He joined the Liège-based studios of Batem, Stéphane Colman, Olivier Saives and Fabrizio Borrini in 2003. He published several short stories in Spirou from 2004, and created the character of 'Monkey' under the pseudonym Nãn. He was also the colorist for the comic book series 'Karma' by Jean-Louis Janssens and Fabrizio Borrini (Dupuis, 2006-2008). Pilet made his official debut in 2012 with 'Barzoon Circus - Le Jour de la citrouille', a comic book in cooperation with Jean-Michel Darlot for Éditions Glénat. He then worked with Nicolas Pothier on two books of the humorous western 'Caktus' (Glénat, 2011-2012) and on new albums of 'Pirate Ratafia' (Glénat, from 2013), a series that was previously drawn by Frédérik Salsedo. He resumed his collaboration with Darlot in 2015 for the creation of the children's comic 'Ninn' at Kennes Éditions. Text (c) Lambiek
