About Nicoby

Nicolas Bidet is a French comic artist who works under the pseudonyms Nicoby and Korkydü. He was born in Rennes, where he worked in Philippe Bourland's atelier, alongside artists like Parel, Choin, Kerfriden, Zanzim, Darwin and Brüno. A press and commercial illustrator, Nicoby also drew for the comic magaiznes Le Journal de Mickey, Spirou and Fluide Glacial. He made his actual debut in the field of comics with 'Les Zélus', a series written by Ferru and published by Vents d'Ouest between 2001 and 2003. He assumed the pen name Korkydü for the comics 'La Voix' and 'Pattes de Velours', both collaborations with Pascal Bertho for Vents d'Ouest between 2003 and 2005. A year later he became an allround author for the one shots 'Chronique Layette' and 'Excursion coréenne', published by 6 Pieds Sous Terre. His graphic novels 'Vacances...' and 'À Ouessant (dans les choux)' were published by respectively Drugstore and 6 Pieds Sous Terre in 2010 and 2011. For the publisher Tabou, he made the erotic comic 'Apple et Lemon' in 2011. Nicoby is also specialized in (fictionalized) biographical comics, such as 'Les Ensembles Contraires' (2008), written by Eric T. and Kris, and '20 ans ferme' (2010) with Ricard Sylvain for Futuropolis. Together with Joub, he chronicled the days of the now-defunct satirical magazine Hara-Kiri. Text (c) Lambiek
