About Jamal Igle

Jamal Yaseem Igle is an American comic book and storyboard artist, best-known for his work on DC Comics titles like 'Firestorm' and 'Supergirl'. He did his first job for the company as an intern through the High School of Art and Design at the age of 17. After his education at the School of Visual Arts, he worked with an ad agency before doing his first comic book work for Majestic Entertainment and some other small publishers between 1993 and 1999. He then worked at Sony Animation for a while before landing a job at Marvel to produce 'New Warriors' with Jay Faerber. Igle and Faerber also worked together on an 'Iron Fist/Wolverine' mini-series for Marvel and 'Venture' for Image Comics. He drew the mini-series 'Race Against Time' for Dark Angel and did some fill-ins for other companies. Between 2004 and 2006 he was the regular artist of DC's 'Firestorm' comic book, which was followed by stints on 'Nightwing' (2007), 'Supergirl' (2008-2011) and the mini-series 'Tangent: Superman's Reign' (2008) and 'The Ray' (2011-2012). He has additionally worked for European publishers like Les Humanoïdes Associés in France ('Army of Angels') and the Perry Rhodan company in Germany. Following the end of his DC contract in 2012, Igle launched a successful Kickstarter campaign for the first book in his 'Molly Danger'. series.
