Cover for Il Montatore #4, 1975.
This cover is larger and much better then most of his Il Montatore covers. I have had several, still have the cover of #62, but it is no comparation...
This one was painted in a style he also uses till this day, not like most Montatore covers, which were done mainly in marker and ecoline.
Also the size is bigger; the #62 measures 30 x 25 cm (image size), the #4 39 x 28 cm.
Probably why he put so much effort in it; it is a hommage to Italian erotic superstar Laura Antonelli.
Manara signed the cover recently on a convention, and told that he considers this his best work of that period. He really enjoyed seeing his old work back after so many years - as you can see on the pictures.
