Little Sammy Sneeze prefigured Winsor McCay's most celebrated creation, Little Nemo. Sammy Sneeze blazed a comic strip trail, as a little-boy protagonist, for Nemo to follow. Because of the depth of McCay's continuities in Little Sammy Sneeze, some historians consider the strip a forerunner of the graphic novel. This is Panel 6 from the Sunday that appeared on 9-11-04. Created in ink over graphite on board with an image area of 7.25" x 8.5"
