Les Pirates de Barataria -Tome 12

Franck Bonnet started out drawing his own comics at age 15, copying his favorite artists. He studied technical drawing to become a civil engineer, and began his career working in an architectural firm. He continued to draw comics in his spare time, and even launched a fanzine in the Troyes area. In 1990 he won first prize at a comics festival in Grenoble for his amateur comic pages. He commenced his collaboration with novelist Didier van Cauwelaert in 1992. They cooperated on Van Cauwelaert's film 'Les Amies de ma Femme', in which the main character was a female comic artist. They continued their cooperation with the comic series 'Vanity Benz', about a reporter for Paris-Scoop. Dargaud published four books between 1995 and 1998. In November 1998 Bonnet began the historical series 'Attila... mon Amour' with scriptwriter Jean-Yves Mitton at Glénat. When this ended in 2003, he commenced work on 'Vell'a', for which he co-wrote the dialogues with Marc Bourgne. Glénat published three books until 2006. Bonnet had in the meantime participated in the collective project 'Une Folie très ordinaire', that was written by Christian Godard. By 2006 he returned to contemporary comics with 'T.N.O.', his collaboration with Jean-Claude Bartoll. He resumed his activities with Marc Bourgne for the espionnage pirate series 'Les Pirates de Barataria', of which the first book was published by Glénat.
