About Fabien Lacaf

After several illustrating jobs, he turned to comics in 1980. He started out with several short stories for Charlie Mensuel and Métal Hurlant, mostly on scenarios by Patrick Cothias and Serge le Tendre. Also, Lacaf's work appeared in magazines like Jonas ('La Vie des Saints'), L'Ordinateur de Poche, List, L'Argonaute ('Les Robinsons de l'Aquarius' with Patrick Cothias), Tilt, Le Généraliste and Perlin ('Pierre et Plouf'). With Le Tendre, he produced the album 'Fontainebleau' for Éditions l'Arbre à Images. He teamed up with Frank Giroud to launch 'Les Patriotes' (Glénat, 1988) and for Dargaud, he drew the children's book 'L'Apprenti Sorcier', as well as 'Catherine de Médicis' (also in 1988). Lacaf started 'Les Pêcheurs d'Étoiles' with Moriquand at Glénat in 1989. In 1990, he illustrated 'En Route vers le Futut', written by Rodolphe and produced through the BD Médias communication agency. In 1997, Lacaf worked with Daniel Bardet on 'L'Extrême Frontière', an album in the collection Long Courrier of Dargaud. Then, again for Glénat, he produced 'Macadam' (from 1999), 'La Traque' (with Bardet, 2002), 'L'Histoire de Mandrin en BD' (with Bonifay, 2005). In 2005 and 2006, he has been working with Nelly Moriquand again, this time on the diptych 'Le Bal des Chimères', published by Albin Michel. Text (c) Lambiek
