Description
Le Renard (Love #2) , vignetta 151
Interior from the French silent series "Love", by Frédéric Brrémaud and Federico Bertolucci.
The second volume, dedicated to the fox, is a very interesting meditation/observation on the circle of life and on Nature itself, dramatized through the point of view of a fox, who crosses entire ecosystems and adversities to reach his destination.
This illustration is not particularly relevant to the story, but I chose it because in it the beautiful details and minutiae in Pencil by Bertolucci are particularly appreciable. The fox is just at the beginning of his journey, he moves decisively but silently, surrounded by the forest, the point of view is far away, leaving space for the forest that rises as far as the gaze goes.
"In the animal kingdom, animals neither love nor hate each other.
Love and hate are parts of a natural whole, a supreme balance many consider to be universal, or even divine.
An elemental love"
