This very dense page shows the same place - Kings Cross Railway Station in London - in three different time periods. The upper panel shows a panic scene during the Martian invasion in 1898, and the third panel shows a scene from the orwellian 1984 society, which in the LOEG universe takes place in the early years after WW2. Emerging on the left in three panels is Norton, a creation of the author Iain Sinclair. Norton is a man who is confined to London, but can travel back and forth in time. The page is replete with iconic British popular culture figures like Ally Sloper (upper panel), Andy Capp and his wife Florrie (last two panels), and Marty Feldman (last panel). In the last panel it is also possible to identify figures like a young Kevin O´Neill and Frank Zappa, for good measure.
Of special interest here is the third panel, which depicts a scene from the orwellian 1984 society, a totalitarian police state, complete with Big Brother propaganda posters and children ratting on their parents. I believe this is the only panel (at least so far) which shows this period in Alan Moore´ s alternate LOEG British history.
