About Alfonso Borillo

Alfonso Borillo Canos has worked in juvenile comics most of his career. He was a member of Studio Ortega in Barcelona, and has worked on several comics for the German publishers Bastei and Pabel. He created the series 'Die Biene Maya' and was one of the driving forces for Felix magazine, drawing the title comic and episodes of 'Kiko 2000'. Other series that he worked on are 'Tom Berry', 'Nils Hølgersson', 'Tao Tao', 'Mainzel Manchen' and 'Mofli el Último Koala'. Some of his comics were also printed in French pocket books like Mon Journal's Robbie ('Wippy' the kangaroo). For Comicon Studio, he was the artist of 'Salusino'. He also works for several advertising and animation studios, such as Despertaferro. In 2003, he began working on a more experimental series of drawings, called 'Blanc i Negre'. Text (c) Lambiek
