Description
Karasu Tengu Kabuto is a historical fantasy manga created by Buichi Terasawa, serialized in Fresh Jump (1987-88) and published in two tankōbon.
The story follows the legendary Kabuto, who possesses the blood of the Karasu Tengu. Tasked with vanquishing Kuroyasha Dôki, Kabuto fights alongside four holy ninja guardians; Genbu, Suzaku, Seiryu, and Byakko | using both mysticism and martial powers …
The manga was adapted into a 39-episode NHK TV series that aired from July 1990 to June 1991
With Karasu Tengu Kabuto, Terasawa revisits traditional Japanese themes and merges medieval fantasy with ninja action and supernatural elements.
Terasawa was well known for his involvement in the anime adaptations of his work, especially Karasu Tengu Kabuto and Space Adventure Cobra.
Unlike others, Terasawa was actively involved in the production process. This included supervising animation, storyboarding, and, in some cases, notably drawing key animation frames or sequences himself.
