About Jamic
Jacques Michel, who uses the pseudonym Jamic, was an illustrator and caricaturist for the magazines of publishing house Dupuis. Starting out as a letterer in 1954, Jamic soon got his first drawing assignments, doing advertisements for albums and illustrations for novels in Bonnes Soirées. His claim to fame came in 1970, when he teamed up with writer Serge Gennaux to create 'Les Télé-Graphistes' for Télé-Moustique. This legendary series parodied and commented on all the famous television shows and personalities of the time. Showing a true caricaturist, Jamic even had several tv appearances himself, alongside Gennaux. Again with Gennaux, Jamic also took on some small comics projects for Spirou. Continuing a career in political caricatures, Jamic joined big newspapers as Pourquoi Pas? and La Cité. Jamic was also active in the animation field.
