About Hamo

Pierre-Yves Berhin (Hamo) is a musician-composer and comic book artist originally from Namur. He developed his artistic talents at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Liège between 2000 and 2003 and published his first short comic stories in Spirou magazine. He was then hired by Casterman to draw the 19th century detective series 'Noirhomme' from scripts by Antoine Maurel between 2007 and 2010. He has subsequently worked with Roger Seiter on a series in the same genre for Glénat, called 'Special Branch', since 2011. Hamo also drew the third and fourth books in Laurent Gelandon's graphic novel series 'L'Envolée Sauvage' for Bamboo in 2012 and 2013. Berhin has played the accordeon in several folkloristic bands from the Walloon region, and is a member of the French party band Camping Sauvach. He also played with the comic author's band Le Boys Bande-Dessinée. Text (c) Lambiek
