About Giovanni Scolari

Giovanni Scolari started his career illustrating children's novels and doing advertising illustrations. In the 1930s, Scolari made his debut in the comic field by working for the publisher Mondadori. There, he created the science fiction saga 'Saturno contro la Terra', on a scenario by Federico Pedrocchi. 'Saturno contro la Terra' was published in several magazines, like Paperino and Topolino. For these magazines, he continued his comic exploits with the stories 'La Galea Dalle vele d'Argento', 'L'Aquila Fulva', 'Nelle viscere della Terre' and 'La Nube di Gelo'. After World War II, Scolari had a brief return to the comic world with 'Un Uomo contro il Mondo', based on a scenario by Mario Gentilini and Cesare Zavattini. Text (c) Lambiek
