About Philippe Larbier

A self-taught artist, Philippe Larbier began his career as a draughtsman under the pseudonym Pehel. He created the album 'Bornéo' at Week-End Doux, followed by the series 'Le Chevallier de Maison Blanche' in cooperation with the scriptwriter Goube at Glénat. In addition, he has worked as a press illustrator at La Nouvelle République du Centre-Ouest. He began a collaboration with Le Journal de Mickey in 1993, where he illustrated several riddle and editorial comics with Disney characters, that were mostly scripted by Jean-Paul Jennequin. Larbier illustrated some 'Guides en BD' in cooperation with Éric Dérian for La Sirène, before he made his series 'Ninja' at Triskel between 2001 and 2003. He has since then focused on several humor comics for both Delcourt and Bamboo. Larbier made the comic series 'Les Blagues Belges' in cooperation with Pluk and Éric Dérian for Delcourt between 2006 and 2010. He also made 'Les blagues de retraités' for this publisher in 2009, followed by. the pantomime comic about cats 'Chats, Chats, Chats' with Lapuss' in 2011. He is involved as an artist on such Bamboo series as 'Les Fondus du Jeu' (2010) and 'Les Petits Mythos' with Christophe Cazenove since 2012, and on 'Les Énigmes de Léo' with Erroc in 2013. He has written the riddle comic 'Les Énigmes de Léa' for Thierry Nouveau in 2014. Text (c) Lambiek
