This is sunday number 102 from January 22nd 1939 and is rightfully called "The battle"...if you look closely you can see why...
The top tier is missing but that does not make it any less special to me...I just love the glorious fighting action and it even has Val (although you can only see him from behind) in the third panel.

Created in ink with red ink key lines over graphite on Bristol board, this section of the Sunday measures 26" x 21". It is missing a paste-up on the bottom left, and the "Save This Stamp" Whip Mace on the bottom right is an original art paste-up. There is glue residue in both of these places. The top right has some light staining. Overall the page is in very good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.

Just in case someone owned the top tier...I might be interested... :-)
