About Yan Gevuld
Yan Gevuld is the pseudonym of comic artist and illustrator Guy Van de Velde from Wetteren. He began publishing under his own name in the early 1980s. He made illustrations for Stipkrant, a supplement of the newspapers Het Nieuwsblad, De Gentenaar and De Landwacht. He then got a job with the Ghent-based magazine Metro, making illustrations for the supplement De Uitkrant. The paper also ran his comic strip 'Jawadde', for which he first used his pen name Yan Gevuld.
As Yan Gevuld, he made illustrations and comics for local monthlies like Kroonblaadje, Trude and Vilain, while his informative comic 'Wakkere Wuggers' was published in Capita Selecta by the publishing house Kluwer. He somewhat dropped off the comics radar when these magazines ceased publication. He tried his luck with US syndicates, but didn't make his comeback until he started making the adventure comic 'Razor', of which he self-published the first issue, 'De Rechtvaardige Rechters', in March 2011. The second 'Razor' book was published in May 2013.
