About Ricardo Martínez

Ricardo Antonino Martínez Ortega (Ricardo) and José Ignacio Moreno Cuñat (Nacho) began their joint career in the 1970s. They published children's and political comics in publications like Piñón, El Jueves, Perfiles and El Loro Verde. Ricardo the artist and Nacho the writer, they made comics about vikings, and created 'Tío Óscar' in Piñón. After a separated period they joined forces again in 1987 and created the space travelling character 'Goomer', whose adventures appear in El Mundo since 1990. The Latin-American Ricardo has also worked for the Miami Herald in the USA, and also worked with writer Frasco for Piñón and El Acordeón, and on the erotic comic 'Muerde'. Nacho has additionally worked with the artist Azpiri on 'Mot' in El Pequeño País. Text (c) Lambiek
