Prépublié dans Spirou simultanément avec Panade à Champignac, c’est la période dans laquelle André Franquin met définitivement fin à Spirou.
Dans Et Franquin créa la gaffe Numa Sadoul note “C’est d’ailleurs une des rares planches où l’on voit Gaston perdre son flegme et se fâcher tout rouge.” Franquin répond “Oui, c’est assez rare pour être noté.”
