Description
I intended to produce 12 prints from 12 drawings for this series. The project was not completed before a print could made of this subject. The drawing features my friend Vlasta at Letna, in Prague, where he and his son would fly kites, or, as he would say ‘Flying Dragons’. Behind him, on the right, you can see circus Berousek has pitched up. Behind the circus tent, Prague Castle, evidence of some irony maybe. On the left you can see the only real remnant of the original intention behind this drawing, Vladimir Iljič Lenin and 20th Century politics. I must have known this was not going to be printed and became more invested in drawing Vlasta, although he had some history with politics, himself. He seemed to have lived many lives in fact.
This board was bonded together from 2 pieces of scratch board. The cut line is visible top left.
