Wonderful and extremely dynamic Mickey Mouse Sunday, by the great Floyd Gottfredson, featuring Mickey chasing down Minnie's hat on an extremely windy day and unintentionally saving a little dog (looks pretty much like a Shih Tzu to me).
1930's Mickey Mouse Gottfredson Sundays are extremely rare, my count being less than 20 surviving examples (some of these incomplete) from 1934-38, after which the Sundays were done (only with very few exceptions) by Manuel Gonzales. About half of these survivors stem from 1937, the year in which Al Taliaferro inked almost al sundays...I personally prefer the more dynamic inking style of Ted Thwaites, so I'm super happy to have finally gotten one of his.
First published May 1st 1938...

I’m always looking for more Gottfredson / Mickey Mouse daily art from the 1930’s through the 1950’s, so if you have any you’d like to sell (or just to chat about - it’s always great to talk art), please don’t hesitate to contact me…
