This is another dream come true for me...next to my Barks halfpage this is probably the piece I’ve been wanting for the longest time. When I was a kid I loved Barks Scrooge & Donald but at one point I also got my hands on a reprint edition of old Gottfredson stories and was instantly hooked. The energy and dynamics Gottfredson was able to put into those early Mickey stories is just amazing...

This spectacular daily comes from what is probably my favorite Gottfredson story ever, The Seven Ghosts. To top it off this page has it all...Mickey, Goofy (in his wonderful Sherlock Holmesesque outfit) AND Donald (who did not appear in many stories) as well as many beautiful blacks...and as an added bonus the first appearance of one of the Ghosts...
This daily is actually on the cover of the 4th instalment of Fantagraphics great reprint collection.

To all of those who have not yet already got them...go out tomorrow and buy yourself the wonderful Gottfredson reprints from Fantagraphics!!!!
