About Fabio Bono

Born in Sanremo, Fabio Bono studied science but then enrolled at the Milan Comics School. He began his career making cover illustrations for children's magazines by Europublishing and Fotoedizioni. He began a collaboration with Il Corrierino dei Piccoli, where he worked with the Warner Bros character 'Tazmanian Devil'. He also provided art to Stratelibri and Chaosium in California. Together with scriptwriter Gino Udina, he began two comic series in 2000, 'The Kingdom' and 'Tao', the latter appearing in Messaggero dei Ragazzi. Together with his wife Marzia he made 8 illustrated books in the series 'Nonno Gidio' for EssEffEdizioni in Milan. In 2005 he started working with Edizioni Piemme, illustrating 'Tea Stilton' books. He first appeared on the French market as the inker of the series 'Watch' (art Luca Erbetta) and 'Les Cercles de Akamoth' (art Emmanuel Michalak) of Éditions Delcourt. He then began his own series with Bruno Falba. 'Confessions d'un Tempelier' is published by Soleil since 2009. Falba and Bono additionally created 'Cathares' in the collection Glénat Grafica. With writers Éric Adam and Didier Convard, he created the historical adventure comic 'Marco Polo' for Glénat in 2013. In 2015, it was announced that Bono would succeed Claus Scholz as the artist of the classic Flemish comic book series 'De Rode Ridder'. Text (c) Lambiek
