Description

Original comic art on publisher’s board

Half-splash page from F.A.K.K.2, the graphic novel created by Simon Bisley for Heavy Metal, based on a story by Kevin Eastman. Executed on original publisher’s board, the page combines a large, dominant image with smaller narrative panels, typical of the album’s visual structure.

The composition reflects Bisley’s established style from the late 1990s, with dense linework, exaggerated anatomy, and a strong emphasis on physical presence. As a half-splash, the page offers a more pronounced visual impact than a standard story page while remaining fully integrated into the narrative sequence.

Original pages from F.A.K.K.2 are rarely seen on the market, and this page represents a characteristic example of Bisley’s work for Heavy Metal during this period.

About Simon Bisley

Simon Bisley (born 4 March 1962) is a British comic book artist best known for his 1990s work on ABC Warriors, Lobo and Sláine. His style, reliant on paints, acrylics, inks and multiple-mediums, is strongly influenced by Frank Frazetta , Bill Sienkiewicz, Gustav Klimt, Salvador Dalí, Egon Schiele, and Richard Corben. He also took inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti as well as traditional comics art. In turn he and his work has inspired various forms in media, including the Beast in the 2006 Doctor Who episode "The Satan Pit", and Simon Pegg's character graphic artist Tim Bisley on the Channel 4 sitcom Spaced.
