Argentina, inizi del XIX secolo: la flotta inglese ha appena dato inizio all’assedio di Buenos Aires. Lasciando sullo sfondo le vicende storiche, Hugo Pratt e Milo Manara raccontano la storia della ciurma dell’Encounter, una nave bordello al seguito della marina di Sua Maestà: è la storia della bella pescivendola Molly Malone e di un gruppo di personaggi sventurati che provano disperatamente a cambiare il proprio destino.
Il fumetto è stato pubblicato sulla rivista Il Grifo tra il 1991 e il 1994. La storia, sceneggiata da Hugo Pratt e disegnata e chinata da Milo Manara è il frutto della loro seconda collaborazione, dopo il capolavoro “Tutto ricominciò con un'estate indiana”.
Argentina, early 19th century: the English fleet has just begun the siege of Buenos Aires. Leaving historical events in the background, Hugo Pratt and Milo Manara tell the story of the crew of the Encounter, a brothel ship following Her Majesty's navy: it is the story of the beautiful fishwife Molly Malone and a group of unfortunate characters who try desperately to change their destiny.
The comic was published in Il Grifo magazine between 1991 and 1994. The story, scripted by Hugo Pratt and drawn and bowed by Milo Manara, is the result of their second collaboration, after the masterpiece "Everything started again with an Indian summer" .
