About Bernard Godi

Bernard Godisiabois, better known as Godi, studied plastic arts at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels. He also studied comics under the guidance of Eddy Paape, whom he assisted on the series 'Tommy Banco' in Tintin in 1970. In addition, he did illustration work for various publications under the pseudonym Godi. Godi became a regular contributor to Tintin in 1973, starting with various short stories and the series 'Comte Lombardi', scripted by C. Blareau. He also took on the gag series 'Red Rétro' with writer Vicq. Godi continued his collaboration with Vicq in the magazine Spirou, where they created the series 'Cap'tain Anblus McManus' and 'Le Triangle des Bermudes' in the early 1980s. Godi was also present at Casterman with the series 'Diogène Terrier', published from 1981 to 1983. Afterwards, Godi focused mainly on advertising cartoons. He was also one of the creatorrs of the animated television series 'Ovide', in cooperation with Nic Broca. He returned to comics in 1991, when he joined writer Zidrou in the creation of the schoolboy 'L'Élève Ducobu'. The series became a readers favorite in the magazines Tremplin and Le Journal de Mickey. Godi returned to Spirou in 1995, with the gag series 'Suivez le Guide' (text by Zidrou) and the game page 'Démon du Jeu' (text by Janssens). Text (c) Lambiek
