This single-page comic by Maciej Sieńczyk was created for the curated international project De la Fondue au… Menu! at the prestigious BDFIL 2016 festival in Lausanne, paying homage to Winsor McCay’s Dream of the Rarebit Fiend (1904). The work depicts a surreal “fondue nightmare” in Sieńczyk’s expressive, signature style, combining humor, grotesque imagery, and rich color.
Sieńczyk was the only Polish artist in the project, featured alongside internationally renowned creators such as Zep, Blutch, Tony Millionaire, David B., Eddie Campbell, Frederik Peeters, Dave McKean, Laura Park, Ruppert & Mulot, among others.
