Description
Stunning cover for the Danish Don Rosa hall of fame number 8, made by the Kentucky master to depict all the stories included in the volume in 2009. Used also as back cover for the American fantagraphics Don Rosa library number 8. One of his last work, it is impressive the ability to fulfill the panel with multiple details and connecting the famous stories in a sophisticated game of parallelism and visions. The balance is higly extraordinary.
The background is stunning. The Krakatoa explosion from a Life and Time of Scrooge additional chapter involves the huge dinosaur that takes the paper from right to left. Two sword are watching themselves, the magnetic Vainamonen from Kalevala and Arpin Lusen aka the Black Knight. Finally Hewey, Dewey and Louie are running towards the map of the Dutch mine. Gladstone Gander with his "feminine hands" (Don Rosa dixit) is embracing the triple distlefink. At the center a young Scrooge with his top hat and a scaried Donald in a great dynamite-glue gag.
Just one word: amazing!
