About Domas

Dominique Malinas is a French comic artist of illustrator for the press and communication purposes. He works under the pen name Domas. He studied Mathematics and didn't have an artistic calling until the age of 21, with the exception of some publications in his school newspaper. He published his first works in fanzines, and is a member of the Zarmatelier, the studio founded by Bruno Bessadi and Richard di Martino in Marseille. A press illustrator since 1999, his first comic album was the 6th book in the series 'Voltige et Ratatouille' for Treize Étrange in 2001. He is an illustrator for Éditions Monica Companys, and he also published his social chronicle 'Enquête aux pays des sourds' with this publisher in 2005. Dominas has published several independent comic books with La Boite à Bulles. These include the detective comic 'La vie en rouge' with Clément Baloup (2005) and the one-shots 'Litost' (2008), '3 Minutes' (2009) and 'Souvenir de moments uniques' (2011) in the publisher's Contre-coeur collection. With Richard Di Martino, he made the humorous comic 'Tels pères, telles filles' for Vents d'Ouest in 2011. Malinas is head of the children's collection Pouss' de Bamboo of Éditions Bamboo, and has made the drawings for several fairytale adaptations by Hélène Beney for this children's collection of Éditions Bamboo.
