Der Fuehrer's Face Donald Duck Publicity Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1943).
Dessin anime de propagande anti-nazie pendant la seconde guerre mondiale, "Der Fuehrer's Face" s'intitulait initialement "Donald duck in Nutzi Land". C'est le seul Donald Duck a avoir reçu un Oscar. Il est classé en 22ème position dans l'ouvrage de Jerry Beck "The 50 Greatest Cartoons". Le cellulo a été utilisé pour la promotion du dessin animé et non pas au cours de la production cotrairement à ce qui est indiqué sur l'autocollant. Il s'agit d'une pièce exceptionnelle vendue dans le cadre du programme Courvoisier (Courvoisier Galleries à San Francisco) visant à mettre en valeur les productions Disney et à les commercialiser en tant qu'oeuvres d'art . Le cellulo est placé sur un fond réalisé par l'équipe de Courvoisier Galleries. Après la guerre les cellulos Courvoisier n'ont été que sporadiquement commercialisés. Et lorsqu'en 1955 Disneyland a vu le jour, c'est dans le "Tomorrowland Art Corner" que les Studio Disney ont eux-même commercialisé des pièces originales.
This World War II anti-Nazi propaganda cartoon was originally titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land." It was directed by Jack Kinney and released on 1/1/43. It was Donald Duck's only Academy Award-winning theatrical short, although he did receive eight other nominations. This film was a first-class effort by the studio to assist in the selling of War Bonds and the American war effort. It was voted #22 in Jerry Beck's book The 50 Greatest Cartoons. This a truly outstanding hand-inked, hand-painted Publicity Cel that was released as part of the Courvoisier Art Program. The sticker states it is a production cel, but this image was produced to promote this film and its message. It is one of the single most striking images done on cel of Donald Duck, with a great image size of 5". The trimmed-to-image cel is on a Courvoisier airbrushed presentation background. In an original Courvoisier script mat, with an opening of 9" x 7.5", and overall size of 12" x 10.5". The original Courvoisier sticker is with the cel. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
