Comment

This exceptional XL-format painting by Tony Fernandez reimagines Daisy Duck in the powerful pose of Frank Frazetta’s legendary “The Huntress,” a classic of fantasy art. Commanding the center of the composition, Daisy stands fierce and triumphant between two feral tigers, an homage to Frazetta’s iconic female warrior archetype.

About Tony Fernandez

Tony Fernandez has worked as a comic artist and inker through the Comicup studios in Barcelona since 1982, and is now also active as art director and character designer. Between 1982 and 1994 he illustrated 'Fix und Foxi' stories for the German market, and also inked the stories his colleague José Antonio González drew. Fernandez has also worked for the French Disney production, where he was an inker on stories with movie characters like 'Tarzan', 'Simba', 'Tigger' and 'Robin Hood'. He is also the inker of the Disney comics by Dutch Disney artist Mau Heymans. With the writers Gégé and Belom, he created the non-Disney comic 'Robert le Robot' in Le Journal de Mickey since 1989. For the Spanish market he has made 'Rip' with José Antonio González for Zona X, as well as 'Solo' with Oscar Martin. Text (c) Lambiek
