About Ted Naifeh

Ted Naifeh has been working in comics and related fields since 1990. He has drawn for most of the big companies, such as Dark Horse, DC/Vertigo and Marvel/Epic. He worked on several self-published and unpublished projects before he got a larger readership with 'Gloomcookie' in 1998. His first work was for Innovation Comics, drawing an adaptation of the sci-fi novel 'Shadow of the Torturer'. In the mid-1990s, he self-published three issues of 'Nicki Shadow' together with his friend Eric Bunham. He then went to work on 'The Machine' for Dark Horse's superhero line, and contributed a horror story to Mojo Press' Atomic Chili anthology. When the comic market somewhat deflated in the mid-1990s, Naifeh started working in video game design. After the success of 'Gloomcookie', he published 'Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things' and the subsequent mini-series 'Courtney Crumrin and the Coven of Mystics' through Oni Press. He worked with Tristan Cane on the mini-series 'How Loathsome', which was published by NBM. Other titles he has worked on are 'The Machine', 'The Thing From Another World', 'The Shadow of the Torturer', ' and 'Star Wars'. He has also drawn for the roleplaying game 'Magic: The Gathering'.
