Planche présentant un dessin original au crayon et à l'encre d'Ernie Chan. Scénario de Roy Thomas. Ernie Chan (1940-2012), né et parfois crédité sous le nom d'Ernie Chua, était un dessinateur de bandes dessinées américano-philippin, connu pour ses travaux publiés chez Marvel Comics et DC Comics, notamment de nombreux numéros de la série Conan le Barbare chez Marvel. Considéré comme l'un des meilleurs dessinateurs du personnage. La planche en cinq cases montre un homme faisant une chute mortelle dans la première case. Conan affronte un démon de l'ombre à quatre bras qui se transforme en deux figures dans la dernière case. On y trouve également un superbe portrait féminin classique dans la quatrième case. Légères traces d'usure et de vieillissement. Un pli entre les cases, probablement dû à l'envoi postal, est visible à droite. Titre et date tamponnés dans la marge supérieure.

About Ernie Chan
Ernesto Chan, better known as Ernie Chan, was a Filipino comic book artist who came to work US comic book publishers like Marvel and DC in 1970. He made his early work under the name Ernie Chua, because this was incorectly entered on his immigration documents.
He became a US citizen in 1976. He had his breakthrough in US comics with his contributions to DC titles like 'Ghosts', 'House of Mystery' and 'The Unexpected' in 1972. Chan was working exclusively for DC in 1975-76, doing the artwork for 'Claw the Unconquered' and being the company's primary cover artist between 1975 and 1977.
Also present at Marvel since 1973-74, he inked John Buscema's 'Conan the Barbarian' and Sal Buscema's 'The Incredible Hulk. He returned to Marvel fulltime after his stint at DC, starting with inking Tom Sutton's 'Doctor Strange' and contributions to 'Kull the Destroyer' in 1977. He drew 'Power Man and Iron Fist' in the 1983, but his main occupation was drawing 'Savage Sword of Conan' and 'Conan the Barbarian' throughout the 1980s until the mid 1990s.
