Classics Illustrated The Lady of The Lake splash page

Henry Kiefer more or less dominated the US Classics Illustrated in the late 1940s. His style is endearing and charming for every CI fan, rather peculiar for anyone else. This is the splash page for the CI version of Sir Walter Scott´s narrative poem The Lady of the Lake, published in 1950. Scottish Highland (and some Lowland) romance and drama galore. The adaptation manages to include so much of the original text that it is tempting to list Scott as writer.
