Clairette, Lison et Pépé Malin 1

Jean-Pierre Hugot attended the School of Applied Arts from 1964 to 1970, and began his career working as a letterer for Éditions Square. He published his first comics in Hara-Kiri from 1971, and subsequently appeared in the pages of Charlie Mensuel, Harlie-Hebdo and B.D. For these magazines, he created a wide range of series, including'Les Deux Mecs', about two intolerable drop-outs, 'La Chanson de Dagobert', 'Nénette, 'Norbert Beaucostar', 'Le Professeur Armstrong', 'Le Pfelelep Enfant Zoovage', and 'Dr Oelenschläger'. He became one of the main contributors to Fluide Glacial in 1987. For Fluide Glacial, he continued some of his older series, and created 'Les Trucs de Pépé Malin' in 1998, about an old guy with a huge libido, who is still capable of seducing women on any occasion and at any time, even from his hospital bed. An album appeared in 2000. Several other album collections were published by Square, Dargaud, Futuropolis, Audie and Zébu, including such titles as 'Tous en Scène', 'Beaucostard contre 1000 Visages', 'Les Expéditions du Professeur Armstrong' and 'L'Enfant Zoovage'. In 1987, he scripted 'Némo et le Capitaine Vengueur' for Jean-Marc Rochette in Okapi. He additionally worked for magazines like Zinc, La Gueule Ouverte, Libération, À Suivre, Psikpoat and Hebdogiciel.
