The American Weekly Magazine for February 17, 1935. These covers were in color, unfortunately I only have a b&w version at this time

Description

Percy Crosby was the artist/creator of the very popular comic strip called "Skippy" during the 1920's - 1940s. His comic inspired many, especially Charles Shultz and his strip "Peanuts". In the mid 1930's during the height of the depression he was hired to do a series of water-colored covers called "Childhood Tragedies" for the newspaper Sunday magazine insert called the "American Weekly". The caption at the bottom reads "If she ever has a baby, I hope she doesn't leave it on the doorstep."
