About Piero Ruggeri

Piero Ruggeri is an Italian architect, illustrator and comic artist, born in Bologna. He graduated in Architecture in Florence, now he divides his work between design projects, graphics and comics. He has attended courses in painting, comics and animation and has worked as an illustrator for advertising campaigns and fable books for Italian publishers like: EMI, EDB, White Star, Edicom and Alinea. As a comic book artist, Ruggeri has worked extensively with Filippo Neri. Their first book was the pantomime comic 'Steam Park' for the French editor Le Cycliste. After, he drew for the collections 'Nino Ferrer en BD' (2007), 'Charlelie Couture en BD' (2007), 'The Beatles en BD' (2008) and 'Moyen Âge - Contes Celtes' (2009) for the French publisher Petit à Petit. For the Turin publisher 001 he has worked on collections like 'Corsaro Nero' (2008) and 'Nosferatu' (2009). Ruggeri is a teacher in Design and Furnishing Architecture at the University of Milan, participating in the organization of exhibitions in Milan, Bologna, Florence and Paris. In 1994 he established a comics course for the Art Center of Giardini Margherita and from 2004 he also teaches at the Nemo Academy of animation in Florence.
