About Daniel Carpentrie

Born in Wilrijk, Daniel Decarpentrie (also spelled as De Carpentrie) studied at the Saint-Luc Schools of Art in Antwerp and Brussels. After making some stories for Aïe!, he started working for Spirou. Under the pseudonym Olandi, he created several 'Belles histoires de l'Oncle Paul', followed by the series 'Les Temps des Loups', which he drew under his own name between 1984 and 1986. After producing short stories in Circus and the album 'Carrat Vandall' at Ansaldi in 1985, he teamed up with scriptwriter Frank Giroud. Together, they made the series 'Missouri', of which three albums were published by Dupuis between 1989 and 1991. Daniel de Carpentrie then left the comics field.
