Kurt Busiek's Astro City is stuffed with little love notes to the comics of old. Not only are most of the characters an homage to some of Marvel and DC's greatest (Samaritan and MPH are analogous to Superman and the Flash respectively), but there are great subtle tips-of-the-hat. Such as MPH's flying treadmill on this page. A clear shout out to the Flash's Cosmic Treadmill. Also featured on the page are N-Forcer, Beatie, and Cleopatra. Created in ink over blue pencil on bright white Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15".

A propos de Brent Anderson
Brent Eric Anderson est né en 1955 en Californie. En 1979 il commence sa carrière avec Ka-Zar sur des scénarios de Bruce Jones. Puis il réalise l'album Dieu crée, l'Homme détruit, sur un scénario de Chris Claremont, qui restera l'une des histoires des X-Men les plus marquantes à ce jour puisqu'elle inspirera l'une des adaptations cinématographiques. Depuis, il a créé des séries comme Somerset Holmes, Strikeforce Morituri ou encore Astro City (avec Kurt Busiek) qui a reçu de nombreux prix. Il a travaillé sur la série Rising Stars créée par Joe Michael Straczynski.
