Comment
Quite possibly the best cartoonist/musician, or at least in the argument with Richard McGuire(?), Lightning Bolt drummer and co-creator of Fort Thunder, whose influence is still being felt in pop culture today not to even speak of comics, Brian Chippendale.
Chippendale sells a lot of screen prints, t-shirts, and art but doesn’t really let go of any of his comics pages (would love a Ninja page), so I was very happy to be able to pick up a page from his ongoing, sporadically worked on, Instagram comic Bottomless Pit. This splash page you can stare at for a long time trying to let all the ghouls, goblins, and monsters reveal themselves.
The story is structured around four moons appearing in the comic which all have different effects on the world, the first one being the blood moon.
