About Gwen De Bonneval

Gwen de Bonneval, also known as simply Gwen, was born as Gwénaël de Bonneval in Nantes. He spent most of his childhood in Paris, and then went to Lyon, where he got his degree in Literature. He began his career doing illustrations for the children's press, and for communication projects. He began free-lancing in 1995, and his work started appearing in Spirou and Le Journal de Mickey. He joined the Vosges atelier in 1998, where he specialized in comics. Between 2006 and 2009 he worked with Bonhomme on the adventure series 'Messire Guillaume' for Dupuis. He made 'Vladimir sur les toits' with Nicolas Hubesch for the Milan children's magazine Capsule Cosmique, and subsequently created '...et autres racontars' with Hervé Tanquerelle for Sarbacane (based on Jorn Riel stories, 2009-2013), 'Bonneval Pacha' with Hugues Micol for Dargaud (about one of his ancestors, 2012-2013), 'Adam et Elle' for Michaël Sterckeman for Glénat (2012-2013) and 'Varulf' with Hugo Piette
