About Roberto Ricci

Robert Ricci has been fascinated by music and comics from an early age. He studied art, then decided to be a professional guitar player. After years of studying the instrument, his dream was shattered by a chronic inflammation of the tendons. He then turned to the International School of Comics in Rome. There, he met Saverio Tenuta, who helped him in getting his first story published in magazine Heavy Metal ('Conquistadores', in May 2000). At the same time, Ricci published short stories for children through the italian publisher Magic Press, and at last, after spending some years doing private commissions, small jobs in the graphic field and other short stories for Heavy Metal ('The Dart' in November 2000 and 'Genesis' in January 2002) he got in touch with Saimbert, a French scenario writer. Together, they began working on a project for the French publisher Delcourt, titled 'Les Âmes d'Hélios', a science fiction epic in five volumes. Roberto Ricci also teaches at the International school of Comics in Rome. Text (c) Lambiek
