Description
Bakshi's Lord of the Rings animated film certainly left audiences wanting, and it continues to divide fandom today. I adored the movie as a kid and still do today. This is a large format animation cel, about 26 x 29 inches of the opening scene of animation of the film. It is a large pan cel that zooms in to a cut to Bilbo's birthday party. The art is composed of two layers. First there is the watercolor background. Second there is the line art overlay to give definition to the forms. I have shown both layers here.
