About Clément Oubrerie

Clément Oubrerie was born in Paris, educated in art at the Penninghen art school and stayed in the USA for two years before he began his career as an artist. He has worked as an illustrator for publishers like Hachette, Mango, Gallimard, Albin Michel and Nathan since the early 1990s. He also works as a 3D animator, among others on the Canal+ series 'Les Moot-Moots', and on his own film 'Anna Gavalda'. Between 2005 and 2010, he worked with the Ivorian writer Marguerite Abouet on 'Aya de Yopougon', a comical series about everyday life in 1970s Abidjan, the capitol of Ivory Coast, published by Gallimard. Gallimard also published his 2008 one-shot 'Zazie dans le Métro', which he created with Raymond Queneau, and the children's series 'Jeangot', which he makes with Joann Sfar since 2012. Since that same year, he has been working with Julie Birmant on a comic series about the life of Pablo Picasso for Dargaud.
