Anahire

Loïc Malnati was born in Audincourt and began his career as an archeological illustrator. He teamed up with scriptwriter Anne Ploy in 1991, and together they created the heroic fantasy series 'Anahire' (Delcourt, 1996-2000), 'Fides' (Les Humanoïdes Associés, 2000-01) and the first three books of the SF saga 'L'Ancêtre programmé' (Les Humanoïdes Associés, 1999-2001). Malnati became an allround author with the SF diptych 'La Mémoire du Bamboo' (Soleil, 2003). Besides a prolific comic artist, Loïc Malnati is also active as a storyboard artist for cinema and television. He is furthermore responsible for the comics adapation of the Jacques Malaterre documentary about prehistory (Bamboo, 2005). He has experimented with styles in his steampunk comic 'Apocalypse' (Daniel Maghen, 2008) and in his painted installment in Frank Giroud's project 'Destins' (Glénat, 2011). He set up his own production company ALM ICON in 2010 through which he works on a variety of comics projects, including 'Wounded' with Marie Damien (Bamboo, 2010) and 'Du plomb pour les garces' (Quadrants, 2011). He was also a member of Philippe Bonifay's Studio Jotim, which produced the comic book adaptation of Georges-Jean Arnaud's post-apocalyptic sci-fi novel series 'La Compagnie des Glaces' ('The Ice Company'), published in fifteen books at Dargaud between 2003 and 2009.
