About Philippe Jarbinet
Philippe Jarbinet was born in the Belgian city of Liège, where he also attended the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc. He made his first comic story in cooperation with Franz under the pseudonym Jarbo in 1992. The series, 'Sandy Eastern', was cut short after only one book due to the disappearance of its publisher Blanco. Jarbinet then tried his luck as an all-round author with Éditions Glénat, that published 'Mémoire de Cendres', his series about the dramatic epic of the Cathare people between 1995 and 2007.
Jarbinet additionally participated in the artwork of Christian Godard's contemporary series 'Une Folie Très Ordinaire' between 2002 and 2004 and the collective World War I book 'Paroles de Poilus' in 2012. He also created the detective series 'Sam Bracken' between 2003 and 2006, and is the author of the World War II series 'Airborne 44' since 2008. Philippe Jarbinet is a part-time art teacher with the Académie René Defossez in Spa since 1990.
