About Valérie Vernay
Born in the area of Lyon, Valérie Vernay studied illustration at the Emile Cohl art school. After her graduation, she made her first children's book, 'Le Gardien de la Nuit', with the publishing house Petit à Petit. She then ventured into the field of comics, contributing to several collective projects and doing the coloring of the Delcourt series 'Sexy Gun'. Her first comic book was the first part of the comic adaptation of 'La Guerre des Boutons' with Mathieu Gabella, also for Petit à Petit, in 2005.
She subsequently illustrated another children's book for Éditions Magnard and started the comic series 'Agathe Saugrenu' with Vincent Zabus for Dupuis in 2009. Together with Mathieu Reynès she made the comic album 'La Mémoire de l'eau' for Dupuis in 2012. She is an illustrator for the children's publications of Milan and Normandie Junior.
