This album takes place in Weimar Germany 1926-27. It depicts a fanciful story behind the creation of Fritz Lang´ s cinematic masterpiece Metropolis. The main character in the movie is actually a double character: the kind heroine Maria and a false Maria in the shape of a sexy, manipulating and sinister robot. Both Marias were performed by the young and unknown Brigitte Helm. Helm´ s robot is arguably the most famous and influential robot in movie history, and Lang´ s Metropolis is arguably one of the most famous and influential movies ever.
