Beautiful page from the classic story “Message in a Nutshell” which was first published in Walt Disney Comics & Stories No. 380-382 (1972), and has since been published in at least 14 countries worldwide. As almost all of Murry’s artwork from the 1940’s to 1960’s has been destroyed, and only about 300 pages have survived, this makes this probably one of the best surviving pages....I just love the unusual panel-composition and those lush black inks in the last 3 panels, wonderful page with Mickey, Goofy and Captain Churchmouse...

                About Paul Murry
Paul Murry drew for the Disney comic books and was mainly responsible for the adventurous 'Mickey Mouse' stories of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The charming style of the Mickey Mouse characters was already formed in the 1930s and 1940s in Floyd Gottfredson's daily comic strips, and Murry did much to further develop these characters. Murry drew thousands of pages of comics during his career and was one of the few Disney artists who was successful in drawing all the characters.
